Manufactured by Clyde Engineering in Australia in 1952, and exported to Hong Kong for the Kowloon to Canton Railway
4 of the 5 KCR locomotives have been bought back to Australia by Chicago Freight. (CFCLA) for local domestic use.

The first unit, No51 has been preserved and remains in Hong Kong, whilst the expats are now in the hands of various local operators and owners.
